Insider tip: The hotel is five blocks from Fraunces Tavern Restaurant, which dates from 1762 and is famous for having hosted George Washington’s banquets. Upstairs from the dining room is a museum devoted to early American history.

The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park offers 298 guestrooms and suites with large windows in the lower 14 floors of a contemporary 39-story building opened in 2002 that has condominiums on the upper floors. Elevator access to guestroom floors is controlled by guests' card keys.

Marble bathrooms contain deep-soaking tubs and separate stall showers and feature Bulgari toiletries. Terry-velour bathrobes and slippers provide lounging comfort. A Bath Butler is available to draw baths on request. Overnight shoeshines are complimentary.

Club-level rooms include access to an exclusive 14th-floor concierge/registration lounge, where guests are provided five complimentary food/beverage services daily: Continental breakfast; à la carte lunch; afternoon tea/snacks; evening appetizers; and cordials/chocolates at night.
